Hospital Affiliations
Many people believe that all doctors who call themselves “Plastic Surgeons” or “Cosmetic Surgeons” have in fact completed a residency in Plastic Surgery. This is not the case. Anyone with a medical degree can call himself or herself a Plastic Surgeon, advertise as a Plastic Surgeon and perform plastic surgery procedures. Many of these doctors perform procedures in their own surgical facility.
One of the ways to assess whether a doctor has been approved by his or her peers is hospital privileges. A surgeon should have hospital privileges for all procedures performed. Dr. Puri does not perform any procedure for which he does not have hospital privileges.
In addition to hospital privileges, Dr. Puri is an assistant professor at Oakland University School of Medicine and is involved with teaching students and residents which keeps him on the cutting edge of the field.
